Lock and neutralize: how we tamed silver. The word about bactericides for water

Lock and neutralize: how we tamed silver. The word about bactericides for water
- Silver is useful! Here's my favorite spoon! And holy water, which is stored a year!

- Get winded, silver - heavy metal. What about your favorite lead spoon?
Two contradictory beliefs are simultaneously true. We understand how to live with this not only for a long time, but also for quality.

Silver, like gold, has been used since ancient times as a bactericide. But not because it works fine, but because there were no other options until Fleming's discovery of penicillin. To throw in a glass a silver spoon in hope to neutralize bacteria effectively in the same way as to knock on them a hammer.

In open access, a huge handbook of bar codes with product names, categories and brands has finally appeared.

We have been working on it for 8 years and now it has about 3 million bar codes in the EAN (EAN-1? EAN-8) and UPC (UPC-A, UPC-E) standards.

github'e . Please note that the source code stores a fragmented database. The full file is located in the release .

Why is it needed?

How Chuck Hull invented 3D printing

How Chuck Hull invented 3D printing

3D printing originated in 1983 - much earlier than people began to massively use the world wide web. But the Internet has long been an everyday part of life, and additive technology is still not widely known.

In this case, the inventor of 3D printing Chuck Hull believes that we have already passed the period of the HYIP and only now we begin to understand the real field of application of the technology. This post is about how Chuck (Charles) Hull invented and patented laser stereolithography in a small back room and how he now assesses his invention.

Docker for Symfony 4 - from local to production

Docker for Symfony 4 - from local to production

Prehistory

One fine day, I needed to deploy the development environment for my project. Vagrant is already fed up and wanted to have a single development environment for all project participants that would be identical to the production server. Accordingly, having listened to the information about the hipster docker, I decided to start to understand it. Next, I'll try to describe in as much detail as possible all the steps from installing the docker on the local machine until the product is deployed on the KVM.

- Docker

- Symfony 4

Creating an application on .NET Core and Kubernetes: our experience

Creating an application on .NET Core and Kubernetes: our experienceHello!

Today we will tell about the experience of one of our DevOps projects. We decided to implement a new application for Linux using .Net Core on the micro-service architecture.

We expect that the project will actively develop, and users will be more and more. Therefore, it should be easy to scale both in terms of functionality and performance.

We need a fault-tolerant system - if one of the functionality blocks does not work, then the rest should work. We also want to ensure continuous integration, including deployment of the solution on the customer's servers.

Therefore, such ...

Simple metrics and a way to save time when searching for problems in the

Simple metrics and a way to save time when searching for problems in theinfrastructure. Not so long ago in the datacenter, in which we rent servers, there was another mini-incident. No serious consequences for our service in the end was not, by the available metrics we were able to understand what is happening literally in a minute. And then I realized how I would have had to rack my brains if only two simple metrics were missing. Under the cut short story in the pictures.  okmeter.io most of the time we are just working on the development of our auto-tagger database, which makes it easier for our customers to find unknown problems for them. ...
