Working with Veeam Availability Console: Configuring managed backup Managed Backup Services
We recently launched a new service for managing client backup policies - Veeam Managed Backup. It is based on the Veeam Availability Console portal. On the functionality of the portal Veeam already told . Briefly recall the main:
For the customer - Monitoring of tasks and infrastructure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, obtaining information on billing;
For the provider - management of client backup: configuration, monitoring and maintenance.
In my article, I want to talk about how to work in the portal and configure Managed Backup for virtual environments. But first, briefly on what is good about Veeam Managed Backup. It allows you to outsource the entire backup process, even if the resources are on the client's site. The service uses a licensing model for VMs with the Veeam Cloud Connect service enabled.
What does this mean for the client? Firstly - the opportunity to get an additional copy of the backup of its VM in the cloud of the service provider without an overpayment for Veeam Cloud Connect licenses. Only the space on the storage for backup copies (Cloud Connect Backup) or replication (Cloud Connect Replication) is paid. Secondly - payment for the use of licenses, that is, flexibility in costs compared to a license type Perpetual License.
But back to the portal Veeam Cloud Connect: the first step to setting up a managed backup is to create a client account.
Veeam Managed Backup .
