From Kaliningrad to Vladivostok
Hello, Habr! Exactly one and a half weeks ago, in the most western part of Russia - Kaliningrad, there was a non-commercial conference GDG DevFest Kaliningrad 2018 organized by the community of developers Google Developers Group Kaliningrad . Thus, the guys opened the DevFest season in Russia, which will take place in different regions and cities, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, including the central and southern regions, and Siberia. Especially for you, those who live and read us all over Russia, we wrote this article, in which you can find out who GDG is, what GDG DevFest is and in what cities they will be held this fall and winter. Welcome to the cat.
Google Developers Groups - These are independent local communities of developers interested in the most technologies of different technologies and API Google. As already mentioned above, these are local communities and they are called GDG $ CITY_NAME . Google helps these communities, but does not own or manage them. In Russia at the moment, more than 2 dozens of such groups, and around the world more than 700. You can find them on the special page meetup.com or here is here . Found in your city? Enter. The groups are completely open to all developers and not only. Have not found in your city, but it became interesting and would you like to organize such a community in your own country? Then we advise you to read a little more about what is GDG , find like-minded people and fill out a questionnaire for the opening of a community in your city.
Ok, with GDG it is clear, but what is GDG DevFest and why are these conferences called non-commercial? GDG can hold a variety of activities, including meetings, broadcasts, hakatons, workshops and even whole conferences. These conferences are organized by the community and are called DevFest or GDG DevFest. GDG DevFest is a non-profit conference, carefully prepared and organized for all by the enthusiasts from the GDG community of your city, to gather speakers from different countries and cities on the same platform.
Conferences are non-profit, because the essence of this conference is not to make money, but to hold a class event about technologies that is open to guests and speakers, and the organizers are committed not to sell your data to third parties. Tickets for GDG DevFest, as a rule, are very inexpensive, from 500 to several thousand rubles a maximum, and are designed, primarily to help the organizers to cover the costs of the event. So-called early-birds tickets, student tickets and diversity tickets are also available almost everywhere. And we, in turn, try to support all the organizers and help the guys in a variety of ways.
To be sure of what was said above, look at the list of speakers and the price of tickets.
For many cities and communities, GDG DevFest is a very significant event. Android Pie, Kotlin, Flutter, Angular, Firebase, Google Assistant, TensorFlow, Android Things, this is not a complete list of technologies, reports on which you can hear, as well as workshops, master classes and other activities. So it's time to find your city in the below, follow the link and register for GDG DevFest.
We made a short overview of the events, and those cities that have already started to announce their speakers, we will talk about one report, of all presented at the conference:
