News IT Geek Hub: about how we did velokvest in Prague and what awaits you at the next meeting
In response to a kind of challenge colleagues from Peter , who hosted the velokvest for C # developers, we, the Prague residents, decided to repeat the event, and that is not worse, but even better. As a result, it turned out quite in its own way, but we liked it, and we think that the idea as a whole was a success. Along the way, we made some interesting conclusions for ourselves. So this race was just the first pancake, it will only get better.
Disposition
From a bicycle point of view, St. Petersburg and Prague are two completely different worlds. And no, not because of the bicycle paths. For them you have to go to the Netherlands, it's a cyclist there is a king and a god who can scribble terribly or even specifically touch a pedestrian who has entered the bicycle path. So let's take a look at the disposition:
who told Habrô his history of becoming a programmer.
So while the St. Petersburg colleagues, divided into teams, received a dubious pleasure from arriving in the center of the city, we lined up with a column (okay, to whom I was lying, we rode in an ugly crowd) and advanced along the picturesque landscape towards lunch. Along the way, several people tried to lag behind, turn in the wrong direction, but we do not abandon colleagues in trouble, therefore, under our careful guidance and paternal supervision, all the starters reached the finish line. Especially, I remember, people were frightened by an unexpected hill just before the finish, but it worked surprisingly as a motivator, and everyone twisted it unexpectedly cheerfully. This despite the fact that it was not necessary to go uphill, if you stick to the route. But it turned out, as it turned out, and without agreeing, everyone decided to take it by storm. There was an excellent route "zest" after the flat.
Having a nice dinner after arriving in the tavern, our favorite girls from HR decided not to let the participants get bored and still arranged the competitive part of our race. True, she was already running around on the nearby slides, but we liked it. Even with the fact that it was after dinner. Yes, and we must somehow justify the word "quest" in the announcement of the event.
So, we were divided into three teams, but with a common goal. You could achieve it by doing several sub-items. There were simply questions on the general thinker, and tasks on the ground, by analogy with the good old Zarnitsa. You unravel the coordinates of the place in the park, you run there, you find a hint for the next stage of the task.
Here is an example of tips: "Your treasure in a square mink." It seems easy, right? So we decided so, running to the place. Here is a square mink - an electrical switchboard, well, it's so obvious! Let's urgently open it and run further! But, probably, it's good that it turned out to be anti-vandal, since under the square hole there was a hole in the brick wall, and the shield was under tension. Although competitors from the neighboring team decided that the square mink is a trash can, and began to take an interest in it.
Was this really interesting?
In fact, yes. With all my skepticism about corporate events, it turned out to combine a lot of good. You rode a bike and fed you tasty, and ran-jumped, and met new people, and talked about general topics, and contest prizes, and even gave a football in the end. That is, Saturday was held perfectly, and received a combo of joyful emotions.
Work on the bugs and new ideas
But, as I wrote at the very beginning, we have compiled for ourselves a list of the moments that are sure to improve in the new bike season.
• Soften the input filter. Having looked at our northern colleagues, we also applied a rather rigid input filter. The initial idea was to unite the Russian-speaking developers of Prague, and as a result we segregated ourselves with our own hands, leaving behind several areas of activity. Do not do it this way. To the next race, the filter will be significantly softened.
• There is an idea to negotiate with the rental of bicycles, as they heard the voices of those who wished, but did not possess an iron horse. The bike in Prague is popular, and we are for promoting cycling with both hands.
• We consider the launch of Geek Hub to be successful, so without leaving the ticket office, catch

Geek Hub
organizes the first ever urban quest for IT in Prague.
From the classified state organization, important security codes were lost. In order to find them it is necessary to solve problems in which the names of streets are coded. In addition to solving problems and searching for codes, you have to meet with different tasks and difficulties, which only the real team can cope with.
What will happen:
Assignments to move the brain
Networking with colleagues in the industry
Prizes and gifts (and as without them)
Burgers and Beer (Yeah, we're all serious)
You need to register now.
