EuroCIS 2018 was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, the international specialized exhibition of technologies for retail trade. A delegation from the "Pilot" took part in it. TSD, scanners and mobile computers from Zebra

The stand of Zebra Technologies showed scanners, data collection terminals (TSD) and mobile computers. Among the novelties:
Model scanner-scales MP7000 - quickly scans and features high uptime and low power consumption: savings of up to 60% compared to similar models in its class.
Mobile computer TC20.
Desktop printer labels ZD420.

Self-service cash registers from Vimana

The Polish company Vimana has gained popularity thanks to its innovative, reliable and affordable price: its self-service solutions cost 20-30% less than the models of eminent competitors.
At EuroCIS 2018 Vimana came from:
Self-service station with an increased platform (78 by 65 cm) for large purchases.
Self-service system with cash payment: in addition to the size (45 by 80 cm), it boasts a quick cash handling. For example, a model can take a trifle with handfuls. A function of recycling banknotes and coins can reduce the cost of the retailer for collection.
Non-cash self-service system in a new modular design. It has a small footprint of 47 by 50 cm. Due to the lack of expensive components of cash processing, retailers will be able to reduce the cost of ownership of the system (ROI).

Electronic price lists

At EuroCIS, manufacturers demonstrated a whole range of electronic price lists , among them:
Hanshow - new models with a yellow display, as well as the already familiar frost-resistant electronic price tags with a LED light bulb.
French SES Imagotag - birochnye models of electronic price lists for fashion retailers.
Opticon - models of LCD price tags and a power system that transmits current directly to the mounting rail. These price tags do not need a battery.

Chinese POS systems

Despite the fact that the exhibition was held in Germany, at times it was like the Shanghai market: it had so many "Chinese partners" on it, as it is customary to call now. The Chinese are very successful in trying to enter many niches, where previously only large vendors have played.
The Chinese can see solutions as very worthy, and very low quality. The latter are targeted at small stores of the "near the house" format. By the way, it was near the stands of the second that you could often see Russian "manufacturers" of POS-systems.
The Chinese showed:
Touch and mobile cash desks.
Printers of checks.
TSD and barcode scanners.
And even self-service cash desks!
Typically, self-service system vendors offer not just hardware, but a full-fledged software and hardware system. Alas, the Chinese colleagues are still weak in this. Externally, their models look decent, but here the hardware and software remains raw. And this can cause difficulties in integration with the existing infrastructure of the customer.


Let's summarize. EuroCIS 2018 made it possible to single out the following trends:
Avoiding industrial design, towards the elegant style.
Reducing the size of devices - all manufacturers are trying to play on the saving of sales space.
Omnikanalnye solutions are gaining momentum.
In the near future, the place of one of the main players in the OS market for POS-systems will be occupied by Android (Fuchsia) - more cash registers, thanks to the efforts of Chinese partners, are released on Android.
Integration of all self-service systems into the overall omnichannel scheme.
