Fintech Digest: personal data of Russian citizens, marketplace CB, new service from CloudFlare

Fintech Digest: personal data of Russian citizens, marketplace CB, new service from CloudFlare

For today we have collected for you this.

Citizens of Russia will be given the opportunity to see how their personal data are used;

The Bank of Russia showed a prototype of the marketplace;

An unusual botnet destroys cryptomayers;

Strange botnet is fighting with cryptomayners;

CloudFlare decentralizes the Internet.

Citizens of Russia and personal data

The other day it became known , that in Russia they create a digital resource that will help citizens to learn the full information about the use of their personal data. This portal will allow you to prohibit unwanted actions with personal data.

The resource should appear already in the IV quarter of this year. Experts argue that the appearance of the service will ensure a more sensitive treatment of various companies with the data of their users. However, in order for the service to be effective, the organization must be required to work with it in accordance with the law.

Now the portal is at the very beginning of development. In addition to the purely technical side, it is necessary to work out the rest - for example, to determine how citizens will learn about the use of their personal information, as well as whether the portal will become a state portal.

At present personal data of citizens are processed by hundreds of state institutions and commercial companies in different volumes and different systems. Most often, a citizen simply does not know where and how his personal information is used. In order to create a single base, you will have to do a great job.

In general, the initiative is not bad. How will be implemented and how much will be protected - time will tell.

The Bank of Russia showed a prototype of the marketplace

A few days ago, CB presented a prototype of the marketplace, on which organizations such as the Central Bank, the National Settlement Depository, the financial portal Banki.ru and several Russian banks worked. Resource tested Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Sergei Shvetsov. He was the first to test the prototype by placing a virtual million rubles on a deposit in one of the member banks.

When the customer chose a particular product, he compared it, but could not always buy through us, the information went to the bank, we did not always know whether the customer used the product. This technology will allow us to understand where the client went, get feedback from the bank and help the customer choose exactly the product that he needs. And the second important reason for our participation is the opportunity to make the financial service accessible,
"Said Dinara Yunusova, CEO of Banks.ru, explaining why Banks.ru is involved in the Central Bank's project to create a marketplace.

It is worth noting that the new participant's project will have to register all financial transactions.

You[банки. — Прим. ред.]do not know the client, the client does not know you, you are in different parts of the country, for you, the logger of the fintransaction is the source of truth. The record made in the registration is the basis - in which case - for the proceedings with the ombudsman. You see in the transaction all transactions, an individual sees in the registrar all transactions that are associated with him. <> If something does not fit, you can ask the platform for a limited time the question of clarifying anything. If you did not, the transaction becomes final,
- explained Shvetsov.

Strange botnet is fighting with cryptomayers

Botnet, which is called Fbot does not do anything wrong (at least for now). Instead, it is searches and destroys programs for hidden mining.

This botnet is a variation of the Satori worm, which, in turn, is the ideological heir of Mirai. The principle of its action is the search for a malicious program com.ufo.miner.

Botnet works through open ports, and then removes com.ufo.miner if it finds it. It scans the network, spreads over it, is installed over malicious software (the range of varieties of vulnerable programs is not too wide) and self-destruct. By the way, the botnet uses not a standard system of domain names, but a decentralized analogue - EmerDNS.

Choosing Fbot in favor of EmerDNS instead of the traditional DNS is quite interesting. This raised the bar for cybersecurity experts who find it difficult to track such a botnet (security systems fail because they are only searched for traditional DNS names),
- the researchers note.

CloudFlare has developed a new content delivery channel

The American service CloudFlare has developed a specialized decentralized channel based on the protocol InterPlanetary File System - IPFS.

Users of the company's channel get access to the content without having to install specialized software. Availability of content is guaranteed to the user regardless of the status of the server on which it is stored.
